I've played instruments since I afewdayslate started the teenage years and loved it ever since. I started out in grunge ,with the release of Nevermind I had already ditched the piano lessons and learnt myself to play bass. Eventuallty this led to the electric guitar with the mind of becoming Jimi Hendrix or kurt cobain.Then I got right into 60's pyschedelic rock with bands like Jefferson Airoplane and the 13th Floor Elevetors, all this had an definate effect on my music, then on the other side i like to dance so I've always had an need for some good chilled trancy dance with bands like Dj Shadow and Leftfield. Recently The last few years I have started to listen to more ambient / alternative , electronica bands with bands like Arcade Fire , Jose Gonzalez , Boards of Canada , Frog Pocket , Caribou. With all these influences surrounding me something had to give and that's when I started recording. My friend and I both feel out with our long term girlfriends and started jamming out tunes on the acoustic at parties. Then i started learning how to use the computer to make beats and record audio. With this The Social was formed (2004), me on music, Steve on rap. It wasnt long before i started building a portfolio of songs for my solo endeavour. Mind u it wasn't exactly what I had in mind due to the fact I was using computers and samplers alot. I was pleased that i could get my own essence through and that's when "afewdayslate..." was born. I plan to do an acoustic driven album next, for thats what's at my heart.Below are each of the albums that inspired me to take up music and to become the person I am.
